Georgia wanted to get across the many different uses for her Rain Wrap. The concept I came up with for the video was to shoot it using one fixed focal lens so that the image composition would remain the same, flowing from one shot to the next, but the situation would change highlighting the different uses for the Rain Wrap.
With a big increase in cycling in Dublin there has also been a big rise in bike theft. Dublin Cycling Campaign, Dublin City Council and the Gardaí wanted to tackle this upsurge so as part of a campaign they hired me to come up with a video to tackle bike theft. It was a nice open brief so I thought one of the biggest problems was that people were not locking their bikes properly and that a basic instructional video would be a good start. The subject 'how to lock your bike properly' is pretty boring so I wanted to make it as fun and watchable as possible so as to reach the widest audience. It was also important for the tone not to be patronising or too serious so I scripted is lightly and got Gareth to present. Its proved popular with well over 20k between the two versions online.
The Dublin Cycling Campaign is a voluntary group promoting cycling and lobbying on behalf of cyclists. The purpose of the video was to get across that its a fairly diverse group with a light hearted side too. The video won first place award in the Better Together video competition 2011 winning the campaign €3000.

Dublin Cycling Stories is a series of short portraits of people who use bikes to get around Dublin. Made by myself and Jason Butler with support of Dublin Cycling Campaign, Dublin City Council and the National Transportation Authority. You can see all the videos in the series YouTube. The videos were also the subject of an article on the urban blog Modacity.
Dublin Festival of History wanted a video to highlight and promote the great festival they run.
The Wheel is a national organisation that represents and supports community, voluntary and charitable organisations in Ireland. They wanted a short video to touch on the activities and challenges for charities in Ireland.
