202s Ease My Mind

This is a music video for the 202s made by myself and Jules Hackett.

We made it using a basic form of rotoscope, it involved us shooting the band against a plain backdrop, cutting the footage together as a video and then projecting it frame by frame, 3000 in all, onto eleven phonebooks as we drew around each frame of the video onto each page of the phonebooks. We then re-photographed all the pages and put it all back together in Final Cut Pro. Altogether it took a very long Easter weekend!

The Video was nominated for a Irish Music Television Video Award and was the subject of a talk we were invited to give at a DATA (Dublin Arts & Technology Accociation) presentation.

It also was selected to screen at the 2009 Darklight Film Festival, it along with the programme it was included in went on to screen at many festivals nationally and internationally.

You can also watch the video on Youtube.

You can see more from the 202s on their myspace page.
